Need to update your team quickly? This feature lets you send SMS messages to one or multiple technicians directly from the job screen — no more messaging each person individually.
What You Can Do

An optional audit log provides full traceability of all bulk messages sent, helping you stay compliant and organised.
Setup & Configuration
No additional activation is required to access Bulk SMS to technicians. However, each technician must have a mobile number saved and be marked as "Use SMS" in ORION. This ensures their mobile number appears and is available for use in WebWorkshop.
To check and confirm this, go to ORION → Workshop Module → Maintenance → Technician.
If this option is not selected, the technician's mobile number will not be visible in webWorkshop.
Sending Messages to Techs from the Job
Sending SMS:
You can send SMS messages from the following three locations:From the Job screen, next to the assigned technician.
From the Technician Allocation screen.
From the Diary view.
Sending SMS to Main Technician:
When the you click the SMS button from either the Diary or Job screen (Above option A & C), the system will automatically pull the Main Technician’s mobile number—provided the preconditions are met (i.e. the technician has ‘Use SMS’ ticked and has a mobile number entered in ORION).
Note: If you do not have 'Use SMS' selected or no mobile number is entered in ORION, the SMS option will display as Empty, indicating the technician cannot be contacted via SMS.
You can manually enter a mobile number or use the search function to select from the list of technicians. Only technicians with ‘Use SMS’ enabled will appear in the list.
Tip: When entering multiple mobile numbers manually, you must separate each number with a semicolon (";").
As the search displays all technicians with a mobile number, we have added an indicator next to each technician's name for clarity on who is assigned to this job.
- To use an SMS template:
You can create and manage ‘Technician’ SMS templates from the WebWorkshop Configuration page.
If no templates are set up, the option will not appear during SMS composition: Setup ‘Technician’ SMS Template:
Navigate to WebWorkshop Setup → Contact Template page to create or manage SMS templates for technicians.When adding a new template for Technician SMS, you must select Method as SMS and Type as Technician.
Once the new template is created, navigate back to the Send SMS page, where you will see the template available in the dropdown menu.
