Courtesy cars are vehicles the workshop provides its customers upon request when booking in a job.


Generally, a customer requests a courtesy car when making a job booking, the person taking the booking will check courtesy car availability and link the vehicle to the job. When the customer arrives to drop off their vehicle, the staff member should then check the state of the courtesy car


This process is similar to renting a car.

Setup

In the Workshop go to Maintenance > Loan Items. Insert the courtesy car details.


From here you can Insert (1), Change (2) or Delete (3) an existing Loan Item and view the courtesy car availability Calendar (4)



General tab

1. Identifier: This should be either the Rego or Fleet number

2. Description: The vehicle description, e.g. Year Make Model & colour

3. Not Active: A flag to make the courtesy car not available for selection



Bookings tab


This displays all the vehicle past booking history. There is also a report (Loan Item Usage) to display this information



Courtesy Car/Loan Car Form

A GemBox custom form (addon#113) is required to be created and loaded into Maintenance >System Setup >Forms (4).
